Socrates was born in Athens in 469BC,
He was not from a replete family. His father was probably a stone-carver, and Socrates also worked in stone, and Socrates aim was a midwife. When the Peloponnesian War began, Socrates fought bravely for Athens.
when Socrates was in his mid-forties or so, he began to feel an urge to think active the world around him, and try to answer some embarrassing questions. He asked, What is wisdom? and What is beauty? and What is the right thing to do? He knew that these questions were hard to answer, and he thought it would be unwrap to have a lot of people discuss the answers together, so that they might come up with more ideas. So he began to go around Athens ask people he met these questions, What is wisdom? , What is piety?, and so forth. sometimes the people unspoiled said they were busy, but sometimes they would try to answer him. and so Socrates would try to teach them to think better by asking them more questions which showed them the problems in their logic. Often this made people angry. Sometimes they even tried to beat him up. He believed in cerebration and reasoning. His methods annoyed the ruling class and made them nervous. He was adjust on trial.
Socrates was accused of misguiding the youth and of being disrespectful towards the gods. He was t gray to renounce his beliefs or face finis. Socrates refused to give up his beliefs. He valued truth more than his life. He accepted the death sentence. Socrates spent his last days in prison. He had discussions with his friends just about the life of the soul after death. He calmly drank the shape of poison. He died and became immortal. He was about 70 years old at that time. People of Greece and many other countries were inspired by his methods of reasoning and honesty. Plato carried on with his ideas after death.
