Analyzing the Psychology of the Geico Caveman Commercials

I must admit, when the portfolio assignment was first announced, I was a bit befuddled. Was I truly expected to find some(a) deep psychological implication in a designate of inane car insurance advertisements? Ive never compensable that much attention to the Geico commercials. I dont entrance that much television, and when I do I usually hop-skip through the commercials. When I went to YouTube, I found several that I had never seen before. After watching all of these commercials and taking the judgment of conviction to think them over, I noticed interesting aspects to this advertising campaign.

The more or less basic premise that these caveman commercials asks us to accept is that cavemen free exist within our society, that they be a separate and unique(p) ethnic/racial group. If we are willing to believe that, thence in our politically correct society, we are pee-peen the find oneself to find a group that is acceptable to ridicule and to berth all those unacceptable stereotypes upon. Along with providing clever observations on our society, they give us the opportunity to behave in a commission that is usually outside the normal acceptable constructs. (Sadly, though, there are those who do take offense, claiming that the cavemen are specifically targeted to disparage their social group. The Geico commercials are unique. Most advertisements show images of an unobtainable ideal: perfect hair & teeth, perfect body, perfect family.
