In John Steinbecks novel Of Mice and Men, Crooks represents the life of an African American during the 1930s. In Steinbecks novel, Crooks is a lonely, stable jerk who becomes a victim of racism and prejudicial treatment because he is the only black man on the paste. Even though Crooks has a crooked spine (where his name comes from) he whole works really hard and doesnt cause any trouble. in spite of all this he is still degraded by the former(a) ranch give.
